StartUp Lessons Learned

You may have noticed through some of our tweets (@okuriventures | @tetuanvalley | @okurispaces) that there is still controversy regarding the merits of the Lean-Startup model vs. the Cash-Burner style; Do you throw as much money as possible at a startup to ensure market traction and out-muscle competitors or do you build more slowly, focusing completely on efficiency?

Right on cue (from Eric Ries’ Startup Lessons Learned blog) comes the conference by the same name. This global event revolves around the ‘Lean Startup Methodology’, also the brain child of Eric, and the objective is to unite like-minded entrepreneurs who are interested in launching or operating a lean business, and to share knowledge and insight from leaders who currently favour the lean approach. Featuring all kinds of speaches, case studies, panels and debates, the day long event includes some stellar guests from the world of lean-startups such as Damon Harowitz & Max Ventilla (aardvark/google), and Drew Houston (founder of Dropbox) to name just 3 of the 27 speakers and mentors.

Startup Lessons Learned‘ takes place in San Francisco, CA, but Okuri Ventures will be streaming the event live in Madrid at Okuri Spaces (C/ Pinos Baja 89, Metro: Ventilla) on the 23rd of April 2010 from 17:30hrs (Madrid Local Time) to which all are welcome to attend. Due to the different hours across the atlantic, the event will continue until la madrugada. To reserve your place (for free) visit http://www.eventbrite.com/event/640820712 and select the number of spaces you’d like.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
