Why do we usually choose the blue pill?

These series of guest posts are written by the teams attending the Tetuan Valley Startup School 2010 Fall edition. This post is from formacionamedida team by Gustavo Castillo.

Do you remember the film ‘Matrix’? There’s a scene where Neo has to choose one way. The blue pill takes him back to normal life an lets him forget everything that has happened until then, wake up, and think that it all was a dream. The red pill will make him join Morpheus and the others, and find out the truth about the role he has to play in a war no one even knows about.

When talking about entrepreneurship, the situation is almost the same.

You find a niche, a good idea, something may be a good business. You invest time, efforts and illusion on it but at the end… you choose the easy way. You need to pay all the bills and you want to go on holidays and so on. To sum up, you choose the blue pill.

I think that all of is, by taking TVSS, want to change the rules and for this reason we are here to build something different. Perhaps it runs, perhaps it doesn’t, but if we don’t try we will never know.

TRYING. This is the key thing pales, never give up. Bear in mind that the best discoverings in this life were mistakes, for instance, Cristobal Colon was seeking Asia when he discovered America!

I assume it’s difficult to find the right path when nobody taught you about it, it’s a cultural issue. In the USA’ universities teachers set up companies with their pupils, you can imagine this in Spain!.

I hope things change dramatically in the future, meanwhile I keep trying it and happy to choose ‘the red pill’.
