IBM SmartCamp Barcelona on June 14th

Don´t miss out on your chance to attend the Barcelona Smartcamp on June 14th! IBM invites you to an exclusive competition for start-ups as part of its SmarterPlanet initiative. The celebration marks the completion of the second edition of Smartcamp, a global competition in which entrepreneurs bring forth innovative technology-based solutions with the focus of building a smarter, more sustainable world in alignment with the main objectives of the IBM SmarterPlanet initiative.

Smartcamp is part of the IBM Global Entrepreneur Program which aims to help newly established companies (startups) and entrepreneurs bring their projects and business ideas to life.

This is the first time Spain is hosting an edition of the Smartcamp competition. The event will take place in Barcelona on June 14th with the following agenda:

This year, the following cities will host an edition of SmartCamp: Bangalore, Austin, Barcelona, ​​New York, Tel Aviv, Istanbul, China (city TBD), Rio de Janeiro and London. The winners from each city will be invited to compete in the 2011 IBM SmartCamp World Finals, in a city yet to be specified.

 

The 5 finalists selected to participate in the Barcelona SmartCamp are:

Bitcarrier: Wireless real-time traffic solutions
cyberGRID: Providing Virtual Power Plant System Solutions
DEXMA: Online Energy Management, Environmental Monitoring & Control
Libelium: Modular WSN platform for deploying global solutions for SmartCities
Skybus: A solution to manage a more sustainable transportation for cities
