Events & Activities Description

Okuri Entrepreneur Feedback Day

Being an entrepreneur can be a lonesome experience sometimes. You are working by yourself without guidance, at times it is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel and you hope you can have a confidant. Somebody that can use a little bit of his/her time to listen to your project, your goals and your preoccupations, and provide you with the insights, ideas, questions and support to steer you in the right direction. We want to be that person for you.

On Entrepreneur Feedback Day, entrepreneurs can come meet privately with one member of our crew for 30 mins. to go over your project and your trials and tribulations, and do our best to give you the appropriate insights, ideas and questions to help you out.

NOTE: *If you don’t see any of these events scheduled in our Doodle site right now, you can stay tuned via our newsletter where we will be announcing all upcoming events at the beginning of each month!

Okuri Talks

Entrepreneurship is an never-ending learning endeavor and, as we say in Spain, “most of the Devil’s wisdom is due to his age not from being the Devil”, so what better source for learning about entrepreneurship than other experienced professionals from our startup ecosystem?

On Okuri Talks, we invite high-profile entrepreneurs, investors, innovation leaders, academics and top executives to give a brief keynote followed by a Q&A session, to share their experiences with the audience.

Tetuan Valley Alumni Meetup

Tetuan Valley’s aim is not to become a step in the process of generating a startup ecosystem, but being part of the epicenter of such ecosystem. Hence, we do not want entrepreneurs to come and go, but to remain connected with each, to collaborate and help build a community of like-minded individuals.

In order to enable and empower this community, we organize the Tetuan Valley Alumni Meetups in which all former participants in either an edition of Tetuan Valley Startup School or Tetuan Valley Carabanchel Accelerator Space can attend to share their experiences, anecdotes and a few laughs with other peers. Although this events are initially targeted to our Alumni they are far from being a private event. If you want to meet the Tetuan Valley people, sign up for the next one here!

Tetuan Valley Hackathons
Being an successful entrepreneur in the IT arena is a constant skill game, and as any game it implies facing competition and challenges, but these are supposed to be part of the fun and excitement of the startup life.

Through our Tetuan Valley Hackathons, we organize competitions in which developers can team up and show their mad coding skills creating amazing products on a very tight deadline to earn the respect of their peers and win public recognition on our website. There is not a single event as fun as this one to meet and learn from other like-minded developers!

Do you think you are the fastest and best coder this side of the Mississippi River?

Tetuan Valley Battledecks

As much as it hurts to hear it or see it sometimes, it is not always the startup that builds the best product, the one that succeeds. Most successful entrepreneurs share some common skills such as the ability to tell a captivating story, generate audience empathy, deliver compelling facts, improvise effectively as events occur, capture everybody’s attention and build up the illusion of momentum around themselves to result in an ever-growing aura or WOW effect.

Now, these aren’t skills easy to develop and they require a lot of practice, but does this journey have to painful? Through our Tetuan Valley Battledecks, we plan on keeping the pain outside this learning process and bring in the fun and laughs that we believe are supposed to surround it. Our contestants are chosen randomly among the attendees to stand up in front of the crowd and give a 2 min. keynote on a subject of their choice, basing their whole story on the contents a deck of 10 randomly disjointed and hilarious slides they have never seen before without having any control on the timing per slides.

Are ready to face and beat your stage-fright once and for all?
