What is the Tetuan Valley Angel School?

After 2 years and 5 editions delivering the experience that tries to bring to life many of the values of our manifesto to over 150 first-time entrepreneurs from all over the world through the Madrid and Barcelona chapters of the Tetuan Valley Startup School; we have decided to jump to the other side of the table and start giving a helping hand.

Introducing The Tetuan Valley Angel School, a 1-day program for seasoned executives and professionals from various industries who can define themselves as wanna-be-business-angels or want to learn more about the experience of investing in Internet startups.

What is exactly this program about?

The course is an 8 hour session of training and working on the process of becoming an angel investor. Attendees will receive lectures and complete exercises, seizing the opportunity to learn the modus operandi of a successful investor in early-stage internet startups.

During these sessions we will cover all the aspects required to understand not only the nature of internet businesses but also the technology that lies underneath them and makes them work. Additionally, we will compliment these lectures with some real-life case exercises in which the attendees will have the opportunity to team up and interact with each other while getting some field-training.

Finally in each session we’ll invite one or two mentors to give advice and short Q&A for 30min. By the end of the day, attendees will present the conclusion, investment decisions and investment proposals. After the program is over and all lectures, case exercises and milestones are met, we will welcome these investors to the Tetuan Valley Alumni community gaining access to a series of resources and a network of like-minded professionals, entrepreneurs, startup mentors and angel investors unlike any other!

Who is this program for?

Although, we welcome almost anybody that might be interested in attending, we have identified 3 main people that will fit perfectly in our target audience:

• The Potential Internet Angel Investor: Members of a Business Angel Network or not, the potential angel investor is either a current or a former top executive or successful business person with some disposable income and preferably some previous investment experience in other sectors, though this is not mandatory.

 

• The Finance and/or Tech Journalist or Blogger: Current writer or editor of a media outlet preferably writing for a section related to either Technology, Internet, Innovation, Business, Economy or Finance, that want to understand better the world of Internet startups and the lifestyles of both angel investors and entrepreneurs in this industry.

 

• Actors from the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: People from public and private sectors that are already involved in the startup ecosystem through the organization of events, courses or other services, that want to learn the nature of the activity of the investors.

Notwithstanding, Tetuan Valley Angel School is an Open Forum to which we welcome anyone willing to contribute to the ecosystem, learn together and raise awareness of the startup life.

All in all, this is not something we just came up with, we have doing these courses for over 2 years for several institutions and we intend to continue doing so in the future. Now we are just integrating them in the whole Tetuan Valley experience to involve the investment side in our manifesto, enrich the community we are building, narrow the gap between investors and entrepreneurs and create a better ecosystem for both parties.

Most of our events will held in our Tetuan HQs, but check your tickets first. We might be holding many of these events in different locations around the globe soon!

Price per person and event is EUR 450 + VAT
Notwithstanding, as Tetuan Valley is a not-for-profit initiative, this money will be entirely dedicated to fund all the rest of the activities we do under the Tetuan Valley brand.
